Đây là một Dự án Wiki Xin xem Guide to WikiProjects  và Directory of WikiProjects  để biết thêm thông tin (bằng tiếng Anh).  
Nhằm giúp tập trung các phần thảo luận và gắn kết những chủ đề liên quan lại với nhau, mọi thảo luận Mẹo hay mỗi ngày sẽ được tổ chức trên trang thảo luận  MHMN. 
Đây là dự án mẹo hay mỗi ngày  (hay MHMN ), cung cấp những thông tin hướng dẫn hoặc phát triển Wikipedia hiệu quả hơn. Dự án này chịu trách nhiệm duy trì Wikipedia:Mẹo hay mỗi ngày#Bản mẫu , và các mẹo sưu tầm được hiển thị trên các bản mẫu đó.
Mẹo hay mỗi ngày được bắt đầu vào 18 tháng 2, 2004  bên bản tiếng Anh. Có khoảng 50 mẹo, được hiển thị một lần/ngày, trên cơ sở lặp lại liên tục.
Trong năm 2006, dự án đã được tân trang lại và mở rộng đến trang mẹo cho mỗi ngày trong năm. Sau 2006, nhãn "Thiếu năm" được tạo ra, phần tiêu đề trang đã được loại bỏ năm đi, do đó các trang tương tự có thể được hiển thị tự động sau nhiều năm. Bộ sưu tập mẹo đã tăng lên khoảng 300 mẹo hay - vẫn còn khoảng 66 mẹo ngắn về nguồn cung cấp đầy đủ.
Trong những năm qua, các thông lệ dự án Mẹo hay mỗi ngày và các biên tập viên khác đã duy trì bộ mẹo tự động hiển thị, cập nhật và tạo các mẹo mới để thay thế các mẹo dư thừa, lỗi thời.
Tại Wikipedia Tiếng Việt, trang này được tạo bởI Mxn  vào ngày 03 tháng 5, 2005  với tên Mẹo trong tuần . Sau đó bị bỏ dỡ đến 27 tháng 7, 2018 thì Phjtieudoc  quyết định tu bổ tại trang và đổi lại thành Mẹo hay mỗi ngày  như phiên bản hiện hành.

Đây là lên lịch của mẹo hay mỗi ngày. Hệ thống TOTD hoạt động theo kiểu Rolodex , mà mỗi trang mẹo hay đều được hiển thị liên tục theo hàng năm.

{{totd }}  – the main userspace version of the tip of the day template, with border, centered in the middle of the page.  Complete with inspirational light bulb.
{{totd b }}  – a more compact version of the above template.  Useful for columns.{{totd3 }}  – a purple box version, useful for displaying the tip in columns.{{totd-random }}  – this is the tip of the moment  template, which automatically displays a different tip every time you enter a page it is on.
